Hello, my name is Joe Sylvester. I was born and raised in Elkader. My wife and I, raised our four children in Elkader. I also have two beautiful grandchildren; a granddaughter and grandson.

I worked and owned our family business for 32 years until selling and purchasing a local convenience store in Elkader: CJ’s Convenience. I also started with Ole's 5 Star Realty in 2017. I had completed a real estate class many years ago, but with a young family it just wasn't the right time to start into real estate. Things changing in the family business in 2017 brought me back to the real estate which has always been in the back of my mind.

Since earning my license this has been a great career move for me and my family. It's not always easy but it is very rewarding working with customers helping them buy or sell their property. I will always go the extra mile if it's showing properties, negotiations, listing your property or procuring a buyer for your property.
