I was born and raised in the beautiful hills of Clayton County, Iowa. My dream was to become an auctioneer like my Dad. In 1970 I went to auction school. As young adults my wife, Penni, and I worked with my family to help operate the Elkader Sales Barn. This gave me the opportunity to polish my auctioneering skills. We started farming in 1974 with my parents and continued until we purchased our own farm in 1986. Penni and I still live on this farm by historic Motor Mill. We have since retired from farming so that we could pursue our growing auction and real estate business.
In 1999, Penni and I became licensed real estate agents. We have had the privilege of managing several very successful farmland auctions. We have always been in the middle of agri-business related adventures. We totally believe if you have a farm to sell, the auction method is the way to go. We can offer a no nonsense approach to good, sound, honest business practices to assist you in your real estate needs.
